This was painting plein air in Jeffersonville, Vermont. The bridge was the artist, Emile Gruppe's favorite bridge to paint in winter and certainly one of mine now as well. Painting outdoors in the winter is such a joy and so invigorating. Even with the melting snow falling off the trees hitting my and my palette, I was undeterred with the sheer beauty in around me.
